The Musician’s Most Important Skill Pt. 2
You couldn't get enough of my last great instant coffee recipe! So here's another gem for you to show my appreciation. This one is courtesy of Stuart Hamilton of ManAlive Studios. Watch their great videos and tell your friends. In this video post we're looking at something a little bit special... the latte. Get ready because we're about to do something that many people think is impossible. A lot like getting paid to play the drums. But you can do it. Just follow 3 simple rules:
Never complicate things
There's no need to get fancy because basically a latte is just a coffee that is made with milk and has no water in it. Yeah its a little trickier than the last recipe we made but you can do it. Just take your time. Its simple if you work through it step by step.
Reach for the Impossible
People always try and tell you what can and can't be done... what you should and shouldn't do. My advice? Don't listen. Ever. You can make great coffee using instant granules. There is always a way. You've just got to be a little creative. Just like my good friend Stuart Hamilton.
Stuart works with his friend and business partner, Liam Johnston. Together they built their video production business over the last couple of years. People told them that they were crazy to do it and that they should give up their dreams and get proper jobs. But they went ahead and did it anyway and still found time to make some great comedy videos.
Be Prepared
Things are always a little easier if you got a good plan to follow. It helps to write it down.
Here's what you need to make a latte using instant coffee granules:
- Mug
- Screw-top, microwaveable container
- Small Spoon
- Big Spoon
- Microwave
- Coffee
- Milk
- Sugar (optional)
Here's what to do
- FIll the mug with milk
- Pour the milk into plastic container
- Heat the milk in the microwave for 1-3 mins WARNING: keep checking to make sure milk doesn't boil over
- Put desired amount of coffee and sugar into mug
- When milk is warmed, remove it and screw the top onto the container.
- Shake it like a polaroid picture
- Pour small amount of hot milk into mug and stir to create a paste
- Pour rest of milk into mug (use the large spoon to make sure the foam doesn't come out too soon)
- Stir
- Top with foam
Most of all: Enjoy and have fun with your coffee!
Alex
